AMD wants to start the year off on the right foot, and there’s no better way to do that than with the launch of its new Ryzen 6000 CPUs at CES 2022.

Let’s get straight to the details: Ryzen 6000 laptop chips are based on AMD’s updated Zen3 + architecture. Utilizes TSMC’s 6nm process, along with new graphics based In RDNA 2. The new Ryzen lineup promises some notable performance improvements: AMD claims its top-of-the-line Ryzen 9 6980HX and 6980HS chips can achieve 5GHz clock speeds, plus a 1.3x increase in overall processing CPU and 2x in graphics performance.

AMD also claims that the Ryzen 6000 chips are significantly more energy efficient than their predecessors. New adaptive power management and power management features could lead to until 24 hours of battery life on certain settings. But you must have note that AMD’s battery life figures derive from local video playback times (no wifi), so the numbers in the real world be a little more humble.

The Zen3 platform+ supports up to 8 processor cores, along with 50 new or improved power management features, new deep sleep states and more. Compared to a previous generation Ryzen 7 5800U CPU, the new Ryzen 7 6800U CPU promises up to 1.28x better multi-threaded performance, or up to 1.11x better single-threaded performance, while consumes between 15% and 40% less energy in handling tasks such as video calls, video streaming or web browsing in general.

Combined with graphs AMD based on RNDA-2, the company says it has created the first Industry APU with hardware accelerated ray tracing support. The news APUs of Ryzen 6000 have up to 1.5 times the memory bandwidth and twice the cache memory L2.

For games, this extra performance translates into fps speeds much higher in a wide range of games, including up to twice the performance in Cyberpunk 2077 (at 1080p in short) Y CS: GO (at 1080p in ultra) using the new Ryzen 7 6800U CPU instead of a previous generation Ryzen 7 5800U chip.

These are not revolutionary numbers compared to those of Dedicated GPUs, but AMD is targeting your Ryzen 6000 for gaming laptops that are top and more affordableespecially for people who can’t pay for a laptop with graph dedicated.

The new chips are also compatible with various next-generation standards, including USB 4, RAM DDR5, Wi-Fi 6E, HDMI 2.1 and more.

Teams are expected based on AMD’s new Ryzen 6000 CPU will go on sale from February, but we are waiting to see what laptops there on the horizon.

In addition to the release of Ryzen 6000, AMD also announced its first gaming CPU with 3D stacking architecture. Scheduled to go on sale sometime this spring (with the socket AM4), the Ryzen 7 5800X3D offers 8 cores, 16 threads, 64 MB memory AMD 3D V-Cache and a clock speed that can increase up to 4,5 GHz (with a speed base of 3,4Ghz).

AMD says this new technology implies that 5800X3D can deliver 1.24 times better performance in Far cry 6 (at 1080p in high) compared to the Ryzen 9 5900X, although the best can vary quite a bit by title, as some games don’t benefit as much of the 3D V-Cache from AMD like others.

Then there is maybe Most interesting announcement: AMD said its new 5nm Zen 4 CPUs will arrive sometime in 2022. While it is a bit early to talk about benchmarks specific or performance figures, during your keynote presentation at the CES 2022, AMD showed a new CPU Zen 4 running to Halo Infinite so that’s something to watch out for. Going even further, AMD announced its new AM5 socket, which will offer support for PCIe Gen 5 and GDDR5.

If AMD’s new chips and upcoming Zen 4 architecture are Living up to expectations, AMD will continue to compete good against intel. Intel Rumored To Launch Its 12th Gen Laptop Chips At CESSo the competition is pretty fierce for anyone looking to buy a new laptop later this year.
